It is the mission of the Office of Biosafety to provide guidance and assistance to faculty, staff and students in order to protect them from exposure to biohazardous materials and to guard against the accidental release of such materials that may harm humans, animals, plants or the environment. In doing so, we will provide guidance and assistance to the University’s research community on regulatory needs associated with the receipt and shipment of infectious agents, administrative support to the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and the administration of the Select Agent and Toxin Program (SAP) for the University’s main campus facilities.
