What does Research Communications do?
The Office of Research Communications supports the OVPR mission by promoting UGA research and scholarly activity. It is the primary contact and resource for reporters, editors, researchers, producers and other public information /relations professionals seeking information about research at UGA. It disseminates news and information about UGA research to the lay public and supports UGA researchers by providing information about OVPR services.
We respond to requests for information from reporters and work with UGA researchers to develop stories and visual materials about their research.

How do reporters find UGA researchers with expertise in a specific area?
Search for faculty research interests in the Faculty Research Expertise Database (FRED).

How do I contact the OVPR Web site?
For design and technical questions, to update information on the OVPR Web site, or to get permission to use a copy of an online image, contact Krysia Haag, 706/542-5222. For Web site updates, send the URL (http://____________) of the item in question.

How do I suggest a story for ugaresearch magazine, or ask about a photo in the magazine?

How do I purchase one of the items mentioned on the Media Shelf in the magazine?
We do not sell items mentioned in Media Shelf. Use the link provided on the page to locate a source, contact the author or the publisher listed under the title, or see if the item is available from the UGA Bookstore .
How do I locate the original published research referred to in a news release or magazine article?
Research Communications does not keep copies of original research papers. Visit the UGA online phone book to locate the researcher mentioned in the release. If the researcher is not listed in the online phone book, use the UGA department directory to locate and contact the researcher’s former department.
Research Newsletter
What is included in the on-line Research Newsletter?
The bimonthly Research Newsletter Research Newsletter published online by OVPR includes OVPR announcements, links to research funding agencies, and specific funding opportunity announcements that may be of interest to UGA researchers.
