Norman L. Allinger
Research Professor of Chemistry

Lamar Dodd Award

A leader in computational chemistry, Norman Allinger developed the MM2 computer program, which approximates the energies of molecules.  The program’s undisputed benefit to chemistry eliminates the need for mechanical models and arduous calculations.  Allinger was elected to the National Academy of Science in 1991.
