Lamar Dodd Award

The research of Norman Giles stretches from the effects of ionizing radiation on chromosomes to the genetic regulation of biochemical pathways. His laboratory was the first to achieve the expression of a fungal enzyme in bacteria. Giles’ international reputation has resulted in numerous prestigious awards, such as two Guggenheim Fellowships and a membership in the National Academy of Sciences.
