There are links to the Bioware portal on the IACUC web site. You can click on the following link: https://uga.animalbioware.com/AnimalBioware_SII_Web/Login_SII.aspx. It would be a good idea to save the Bioware portal address as a “favorite” in your browser.
Log-on using your UGA MyID and password. Successful log-on will take you to your “Animal Bioware Main Page” where you will see all the protocols in which you are listed as having some role.
Your Bioware AUP is filled out using a web-wizard. If you’ve ever filled out a form on the web, you can use Bioware. Nevertheless, training for Bioware is available. The training includes Bioware basics as well as helpful hints. Please check the Training and Development page for upcoming Bioware training dates.
Internet Explorer is the supported browser. Other browsers will work, although the web pages may not be rendered with high fidelity. Mac users should use the most recent version of Safari.
Log-on to your Bioware portal using your UGA MyID and password. Once at your Bioware main page, pull down the “IACUC” tab and click on “Start New Protocol.”
Currently you can only cut and paste text from other documents to the Bioware protocol. Charts and pictures are not supported by Bioware but we are working with the vendor to allow other documents to be appended to your protocol. Contact the Office of Animal Care and Use if there is critical information that cannot be conveyed as text that you need submitted to support your protocol.
You may time out of the Bioware system even if you are actively entering information. The time out length is set at 20 minutes for page changes, not key strokes. This means that even if you are actively typing on a page for 20 minutes, but do not leave that page or save; you will time out for being idle too long. So it is very important to SAVE YOUR WORK FREQUENTLY or change pages frequently. Bioware is timing out users who are inactive to preserve limited server resources.
When you click the “SUBMIT” button, your digital signature is automatically added to the protocol for you.
When you click the “SUBMIT” button, your digital signature is automatically added to the protocol for you.
Log-on to your Bioware portal using your UGA MyID and password. Locate the protocol you want to change on your Bioware main page. Click “REVISE or AMEND” and the web-wizard will launch and guide you through the process. Provide a concise overview of the changes you are making to the protocol on the “Modification Overview” page, alter the sections of the protocol that need to be changed, and submit.
Choose the AUP by clicking “revise or amend” once the web wizard launches, click on the Introduction tab in the left column, a slide out menu appears:
Click on -Modification overview, and then type Annual Renewal in this text box. Go back to the left column and click on Submission at the bottom, and the slide out menu appears:
Click on Submit AUP and confirm.
If you have changes that you wish to make to your protocol you still type “Annual Renewal” then continue to list the changes. Then you must input the changes into the actual sections of the protocol, (procedural changes usually appear in section 7.1) then you continue to submission.
All AUPs that were submitted pre-Bioware were entered into Bioware with only “bare bones” information. This does not mean that you need to complete all these sections again. We have the original in our files.
Log-on to your Bioware portal using your UGA MyID and password. Locate the protocol you want to change on your Bioware main page. Click “VIEW STATUS” for the protocol that is expiring and this will take you to the “AUP Status” page. Click on the “COPY AS DRAFT” button and this will launch the web-wizard. Make the necessary updates to the draft protocol and submit.
Log-on to your Bioware portal using your UGA MyID and password; locate the protocol on the main page of the Bioware system. Before you hit the submit button on the submission page, you can hit the “EMAIL ME” button and a PDF document will be forwarded to your e-mail address. You can then attach this to an e-mail to your Attending Veterinarian for review.
