Abstract: |
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) seeks research proposals in the area of tumor stem cell biology including characterization of tumor stem cell markers, and to identify specific genetic and functional signatures of tumor stem cells. The goal is the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice in the context of both hematological and solid tumor malignancies. Therefore, applications must involve appropriate and substantive collaborative arrangements between basic and translational researchers providing, respectively, expertise in the biology of tumor stem cells and in translation of basic research findings into clinical practice. To facilitate substantive collaborations, applicants are encouraged to take advantage of the multiple Principal Investigators option. |
