Abstract: |
IACUC 101 covers basic compliance responsibilities of those involved with animal use at the university. This course is required for those using vertebrate animals in research, instruction or outreach activities at the university. The laws, regulations, and guidelines that inform our obligations for the humane care and use of animals are explored. The University's Animal Use Protocol will be reviewed, including tips for filling out the forms and a description of the approval process. The roles of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Principal Investigators, Attending Veterinarians, and others will be outlined.
