What is RSS?

RSS (or "Really Simple Syndication") is a system that allows you to subscribe to your favorite websites and have updates of web content delivered straight to your computer and other web-accessible devices.

Programs known as feed readers or aggregators can check a list of feeds on your behalf and display any updated articles that they find.

RSS-aware programs are available for various operating systems. Many web browsers have integrated support for RSS feeds. (simply click on the RSS in the address bar or near the top of your browser window, and your browser will ask you if you would like to subscribe to this RSS feed or add it to your live bookmarks)

There are other free applications that can deliver RSS feeds to you. Some of the more popular browser-based RSS aggregators are My Yahoo and Google Reader. Or you can use the free newsreader software Mozilla Thunderbird. You may need to check with your IT department in order to see if there are any compatibility issues with your operating system. You can use the link in this graphic (RSS Feed) to add this site to an RSS aggregator.

Our RSS feed on the Research Funding Newsletter is updated constantly, as soon as new articles are posted. If you would like to get the newest information sent directly to your feed reader or aggregator, please sign yourself up today.
