The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Department of Energy (DoE), supports research and development of technologies that can deliver affordable hydrogen produced from coal or coal/biomass mixtures with near-zero environmental emissions. The Department of Energy (DoE) solicits proposals specifically be limited to producing liquid hydrocarbon fuels from coal/biomass mixtures. This funding opportunity notice contains three Program Areas of Interest:
-
Feeding Coal/Biomass Mixtures Across a Pressure Gradient
-
Characterization of the Products from Gasifiying Coal/Biomass Mixtures
-
Optimization of the Fischer-Tropsch (FT) and Water-Gas-Shift (WGS) Processes
Applicants are cautioned that this FOA is a master announcement and that each Program Area of Interest has its own program-specific number for submission of applications. See the full program announcement at the link above for details.
