Who
Should Participate:
Research administrators, development officers, legal officers,
business officers, accountants, faculty, and graduate students.
The participation of all individuals within your institution
or organization that may be involved in receiving and classifying
external financial support is very desirable.
Why
You Should Participate:
Anyone at a university, a college, a hospital or other nonprofit
institution that receives grants, contracts, donations, corporate
sponsorship or other monies has probably asked themselves: Just
what is the difference? Does it really matter what you call the
money? Just how much trouble can we get into if we guess wrong?
Will the federal government really mind if we put their money
in a gift account?
The Society of Research
Administrators (SRA), the Council for Advancement and Support
of Education (CASE) and PricewaterhouseCoopers are collaborating
to bring you a half day teleconference program involving transactions
which are clearly grants, clearly gifts, or clearly "whatevers"
-- gray areas including contractual relationships and clinical
trials.
If you have a
particular issue or question you would like addressed please
fax your question prior to September 8th, 2000, to Chicki George
FAX 542-5946.
